Checks You Can Do on Your Tyres

Tyres should be checked regularly as part of keeping you safe on the road as they’re one of the most valuable parts of your vehicle. We recommend checking your tyres before every long journey, specifically looking at the tread depth, pressure and the general condition of each tyre. The legal minimum for tread depth is 1.6mm – if your tyres are below this you could be at risk of getting a fine and point on your driving licence. If you’re unsure how to check the tread depth, we can always help if you bring your vehicle to our Hailsham garage. If they don’t meet legal requirements you’ll need to get new tyres fitted as soon as you can.
